When you look at Flowers of Sulphur under a microscope, the crystals resemble flowers, hence the name. Flowers of Sulphur, also known as Brimstone, is a mineral from naturally occurring volcanic deposits. It has been known for centuries to be an effective natural remedy, while being no more toxic than table salt.
We use Sulphur as a dusting powder on and around our poultry and find it effective for the control of mites and lice. However, due to NZ ACVM regulations, we are not permitted to make insecticidal claims.
Sulphur may be used to assist the healing process of minor wounds.
As an animal feed supplement, Sulphur can be sprinkled into feed once a week.
On the skin, mix a small amount with a skin cream and apply sparingly.
