Silver Laced Barnevelder

Originally from the Dutch town of Barneveld, the Barnevelder was developed in the early 1900's, just before the First World War, to create a reliable layer of brown eggs to meet the preference and demands of the European market.
The standard Barnevelder has bronze ground colour with double black lacing, but over the past few years here at Sunset Croft, we have developed our own distinctive Silver Laced variety with striking single lacing. We fondly call them our "colouring book hens." They are more heavy set than standard Barnevelders and are outstanding layers of attractive speckled eggs.
Our Barnevelders are hardy and rarely have health issues, are not prone to broodiness, and are quiet natured and easy to handle, so make great pets.
Truly very special and exclusive to Sunset Croft. You will not find these spectacular birds anywhere else.
We do not sell fertile eggs or breeding cockerels from this breed.
